UR’s Williams good to go vs. SLU on Saturday

Apart from the activity that led to a 12-1 home record for the University of Richmond, the most encouraging Spiders’ scene at the Robins Center this season may have come Wednesday afternoon.
Derrick Williams ran, cut and jumped during practice without any indications that the junior power forward missed UR’s last nine games with an injury to his left ankle. The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder, who averages 13.6 points and 6.8 rebounds, is expected to be ready for Saturday’s 6 p.m. game between the Spiders (14-9, 4-4 in A-10) and visiting Saint Louis (17-5, 6-2 in A-10).
“Having Derrick back for us is big,” said guard Kendall Anthony. “He’s very effective in the paint. That’s a big plus for us, knowing we have someone down there that can really score and be efficient. We’re looking forward to playing with him again.”
Halfway through their A-10 season, the Billikens are tied for first place with Butler (19-4, 6-2 in A-10) and VCU (18-5, 6-2 in A-10).
