UR assistant McGeehan expected to be named at Campbell

University of Richmond basketball coach Chris Mooney is expected to lose his wing man this week.
Associate head coach Kevin McGeehan will be named the head coach at Campbell, sources said on Wednesday. McGeehan, 39, has worked on Mooney staffs for all but four years since 1995. That association includes the last eight seasons at Richmond, one season on the Air Force staff, and time at Division III Beaver College (now Arcadia University) and at Lansdale High, which is located outside of Philadelphia.
Campbell, of the Big South Conference, dismissed Robbie Laing on March. Laing’s teams went 114-185 in 10 seasons at the school in Buies Creek, N.C., which is about 30 miles south of Raleigh.
McGeehan, a native of Maple Glen, Pa., is a 1995 graduate of Gettysburg College. He is the only member remaining of Mooney’s original three-man staff at UR.
